Orders and advice: regular verbs in the imperative

“L’impératif”, the imperative tense, is the tense French people use to give advice or orders.
This tense is peculiar: there are only 3 persons (“You” singular and plural, “We”), and we don’t use pronouns. Just like in English!

Why learn this tense?
– It’s mostly used in real-life conversations and interactions, rather than essays.
– The basic rules are quite simple!

Let’s dive in.
