Over the next 30 days, we’re going to explore a daily challenge to help you get better at speaking real, everyday spoken French. Each activity should take no more than 15 minutes a day.

Our Theme & Dates

The content for this ‘Explore Versailles ‘ edition of the 30-Day French Challenge will be delivered from Friday, May 1st  until  Saturday, May 30th.

Here’s quick preview of the topics we’ll be covering together:

Chapter 1: Le Château de Versailles – Think of this as Versailles 101. We’ll “visit” the palace itself 🏰, wander through its breathtaking gardens, and uncover the fascinating history behind it all. ✨

Chapter 2: The Court of Louis XIV 👑 We’ll pull back the curtain on French society when Versailles was at its peak, including the power plays, the historical gossip, and the surprisingly dramatic day-to-day of life at court.

Chapter 3: Molière & Cultural Works of the Time –  Did you know more than 2,000 tragedies and comedies 🎭 were performed at Versailles? We’ll get to know some of the most memorable works from this golden era of French culture. 📜

Chapter 4: Movies & Shows 🎬 Versailles has never stopped inspiring storytellers. We’ll explore the films, series, and media that have brought this iconic place to life on screen. 🍿

Chapter 5: Around the Château  The palace is just the beginning! We’ll round out the Challenge by discovering the charming city of Versailles 🌿 that exists beyond its legendary gates. 🗺️

How to access the Challenge

If you haven’t done so already, you will need to purchase this course to receive access to the Challenge once it starts.

In this community, you’ll also be able to share your thoughts, experiences, and questions about the daily challenges, and connect with other people who love to learn more about French and French culture – just like you! 😄

• To ask a question or comment on a lesson:  Use the comments section for the day’s lesson, and a member of our team will reply to it as soon as we can. This is also a great place to tell us what you learned, answer a question that was asked in the lesson, and support and encourage your fellow students. (Please keep commentary focused on lesson related topics.) Don’t be afraid to write in French, even if you make mistakes. ❤️
• To get technical or account support:  Please email us at  help@commeunefrancaise.com . We will not answer technical or account questions in the comments sections of lessons (it becomes messy and confusing for everyone!). 🛠️
