Welcome to the April 2026 Challenge! 👋

I’m so glad that you decided to join us. 🥰

Our Theme & Dates

The content for this ‘Regional Specialties  edition of the 30-Day French Challenge will be delivered from Wednesday, April 1st  until  Thursday, April 30th.

Here’s quick preview of the topics we’ll be covering together:

Chapter 1: Specialties 101 —  Our first stop is the world of French regional identity. Specialties 101 🗺️ introduces you to the vocabulary of local produce and regional pride, giving you the real-world tools to understand how France’s beloved specialties were born and why they matter.

Chapter 2: Wine & Cheese — Next, we raise a glass and unwrap something delicious. Wine & Cheese 🍷🧀 takes you through the vineyards and fromageries of France, where you’ll discover the culture, vocabulary, and traditions behind the country’s most iconic exports.

Chapter 3: Iconic Recipes  — Then, we head to the kitchen. Iconic Recipes 🍲 brings the most celebrated regional dishes to life from a steaming bouillabaisse in Marseille to a slow-cooked bœuf bourguignon in Burgundy and uncovers the surprising stories behind them.

Chapter 4: Sweet Treats — We’ll then satisfy our sweet tooth in Sweet Treats 🍬. From the nougat of Montélimar to the elegant calisson d’Aix, discover the charming (and sometimes invented!) legends behind France’s most irresistible regional confections.

Chapter 5: Non-Food Crafts — Finally, we look beyond the plate in Non-Food Crafts 🪡. From Marseille soap to Limoges porcelain, Opinel knives to the iconic marinière, explore the artisan crafts and regional traditions that give every corner of France its unique character.

How to get quick answers to your questions

We love hearing from you and seeing you connect with your fellow Challengers. Here are some guidelines to help you get the most out of the 30-day French Challenge and the fastest answers to any questions you may have.

  • To ask a question or comment on a lesson:  Use the comments section for the day’s lesson, and a member of our team will reply to it as soon as we can. This is also a great place to tell us what you learned, answer a question that was asked in the lesson, and support and encourage your fellow students. (Please keep commentary focused on lesson related topics.) Don’t be afraid to write in French, even if you make mistakes. ❤️
  • To get technical or account support:  Please email us at  help@commeunefrancaise.com . We will not answer technical or account questions in the comments sections of lessons (it becomes messy and confusing for everyone!). 🛠️

I look forward to spending the next 30 days with you, helping you improve your French and learn more about French culture!

See you soon!
